[Spoilers] TFA Theories and Speculations Megathread, 1/15

Who is Phasma?

My theory is that Phasma is ISB Commander, Alecia Beck, from the Journey to the Force Awakens book Smuggler's Run. The Journey to the Force Awakens books have clues about TFA in them, I have to believe there are more clues than the prologue and epilogues and background characters. I find it an odd coincidence that the artwork of Beck in the book looks similar to Gwendoline Christie. The prologue and epilogue features Older TFA Han telling the story. When asked at the end "Whatever happened to Beck?" Han replies, "Tell you next time."

But Beck was in command of the Vehement in Smuggler's Run, the Vehement was destroyed in the battle of Endor.

Beyond Smuggler's Run, we have no idea what happens to her. Maybe she will show up in more of the media to tell more of her story. Maybe by the time the battle of Endor takes place, she's no where near the fighting. Maybe she was at Endor and manages to somehow survive....

But that book is set between ANH and ESB, even if she did survive Endor, how can it possibly be her?

Cybernetics. Beck already has a cybernetic/prosthetic eye in the book, perhaps as her career for the Empire continued, she became more and more scarred, replacing parts of herself with robotic and cybernetic tech.

Perhaps she was at Endor, still in command, or on the Vehement, but was severely injured. Prompting her to add more cybernetic/prosthetic implants to her body.

Why would Phasma be a cyborg or droid?

The film didn't really present anything that could point to her being a cyborg or droid, Finn comments about her not taking her helmet off. However, in the Before the Awakening prequel book, the way Phasma's movements are described from Finn's POV, remind me of someone that is either a cyborg or full on droid.

Could it be? Probably not, but I've overdosed on colloidal tinfoil with this one. But ever since I read Smuggler's Run, I've been suspecting Phasma could be Beck.
