[SPOILERS] Unpopular Opinion: S08E01 "Winterfell" is at about the same level as Season 7.

I completely disagree with all your points. And I did a rewatch recently.

The High Sparrow is my least favorite storyline of the entire series, thats why I'm glad season 6 put an end to it and started to put it in motion. In season 5 the only scenes with the storyline were boring pretentious dialogues, whereas in season 6 action was started being take and actual plotting happened. After 'Book of the Stranger' this boring ass storyline finally got some traction.

Tyrions control of Meereen being a disaster was exactly what the show needed, he didnt have any prior experience with a completley different culture and as such this happened. Dany's storyline upwards to this point was completely bland and extremely linear. She gained entire armies by practically doing nothing and came out of multiple dangerous situations untouched. Imo, Mereen is really not a good point from your side.

Tyrion still wasn't a fool in that regards, for example he gained some universal PR success by inviting that red priestess and promoted Dany across the continent.

The braavos is a matter of opinion, some people find it too dragged on, others find it unrealistic. I do think the events in 'No One' are kinda unrealistic, but I really do not mind the other moments in this season. I didn't find it have a negative effect on the season overall.

For the story itself I think its good that Arya realized at the last moment that she didn't want to be member of this kill-innocent-people cult and thats why she returned to her identity. Jaqen let her go because she had a sword pointed at him, and he was unarmed, so there wasn't much to do at that point.

I think season 4 is the best season as well, and after that I place 3 1 and 6 at the same spot or giving 3 a slight edging followed by season 1 + 6 at the same spot. Worst season imo was season 5. I did like season 7, bar episode 6.
