[SPOILERS] What are the best Youtube analysis as for why GoT ended like it ended?

No there wasn't any hint of Bran being on the throne, but that is GRRM's ending. If Dany isn't on the throne, then that means that she will die in the books as well. She will not give up on the throne, and there are some people who actually believe that Dany would give up on the throne and go back to Essos to rule, but that is character assassination. I think the problem here is that GRRM tried to be too much like Tolkien. His style of storytelling is way better than Tolkien's, so I don't understand why he wanted a similar ending to Tolkien's LOTR (where Saruman is the final enemy rather than Sauron). If it were up to me, in retrospect I'd rather have this ending:

No battle of Winterfell. Tyrion realizes that Cersei would never send any forces to Winterfell to fight with them, so Dany, Jon and the rest would rather spend their time warning people to move as South as possible, and leave those behind who refuse. Then they'd just allow the Night King and his army to reach King's Landing because the only way to stop Night King is by forcing Cersei's army to fight against them as well. The wights breach King's Landing and begin to kill civilians as well. Dany sees how NK keeps resurrecting the dead, and then decides to burn King's Landing while killing as many wights and civilians as possible. Why? Because if she doesn't do it, they cannot win, and if she does nothing, then the civilians will die either way, so from her perspective they will die anyway and therefore considers them to be collateral damage. They win the battle and both NK and Cersei are killed in the process. Consequences? King's Landing is in ruins. Dany would now want to claim the throne but because she gains no support due to her burning King's Landing, she becomes mad for having to go through all that and then not be accepted as she had believed back in S2. Jorah is then forced to kill her (yes, not very detailed, but this is just the basics). No one becomes the new king/queen of Westeros and the Iron Throne is disposed of. The realm is divided, Tyrion becomes the lord of Casterly Rock, Arya sails West of Westeros, Jon lives with the wildlings, Sansa becomes queen in the North. King's Landing is left to waste away and basically becomes the Old Valyria 2.0.

Now, these are just ideas and what matters is execution of the ideas, and in that regard I would be far from as good as GRRM and D&D.
