This is why intersectionality is so damn important. I went on an Asian American forum to try to find shared experiences and comaraderie once and was so disappointed when it was filled with a bunch of Asian guys who were obviously bitter at Asian women, acting like we 'got it good' and that us dating any another race is some sort of betrayal to Asian dudes (oddly enough, Asian men dating white women don't seem to get this vitriol).

I get that life in the West can be hard for Asian men because there is a stereotype that Asian men are less 'masculine.' I defend Asian men whenever I see racism against them. On the other hand, it's not as Asian women don't have problems we face too. We're fetishized and creeped on, and we still face the double lunch of racism and misogyny. I am disappointed that POC men and POC women working together seems to such a difficult thing to achieve sometimes. And, to be frank, from my own experiences and perspective, it's almost always POC women defending men in their race while POC men don't care or even contribute to the abuse of POC women ...
