Spouses and partners of Reddit, what red flags are you glad you ignored?

She was uneducated, no hobbies, no interest in anything cultural, never took a plane, never went abroad or anywhere more than 5 hours away from her city. She was intellectually lower and that was a huge red flag for me since I had 2 degrees already moving to get a 3rd one. Already travelled 30+ countries, love collecting antiques, books, visiting museums etc.

I was almost about to back up from marriage because I thought we do not have much in common to spend the whole life together in happiness.

I was wrong.

We have 2 wonderful kids and married for 13 years and dated for 3; so we are together for 16 years.

She developped many hobbies, we even share some. We kept travelling together in the world and living abroad. Kids went to school in US, Denmark, Middle East and Brazil.

She has amazing skills in organizing where I am totally careless when it comes to personal life. I used to pay bills when after they cut power, water, phones etc. She manages and organizes everything in our household and that gives me mental peace to focus on my productions. (I am working in media and I known as an agressive producer, just the opposite of my personal life)

And lastly, because of that huge red flag, I did not notice in our early days how beatiful she was. People used to tell me she is beautiful and I was like - really? She is ok but I felt like people just acting nice. Now when I look at her and her older photos, I see what everyone meant. She was and is totally gorgeous.
