Spring Day 1

The trick is all in how well you set yourself up in spring. At first you need to (mostly) ignore farming and focus on fishing and mining. In the first week or so after the mine opens you're going to be alternating fishing/mining and using gold chubs for food. Salmonberry season helps not having to go fishing, and if you have spare change salads are great too.

In my current playthrough I got fishing to 5 the day before the mines opened. Took the increased fishing profit perk, sold all my fish, bought a backpack and some potatoes plus seeds for bundles, and hit the mines. You want to get down to level 30 asap, and get around 20 copper bars asap. Upgrade pickaxes, then upgrade watering can when you can, use the rest of the copper bars to tap around 5 oak trees and 1 maple and pine tree.

Make sure you have $9000 during the easter egg hunt. You need to buy 90 strawberries to get your farming to level 6 (for quality sprinklers). I actually got really unlucky, and had no rain up until my last strawberry harvest so I had to water each one by one which really sucked.

I'd say, by the 20th you want to have already gotten to mine level 100, and you want to have already started tracking the mushroom level. Figure out which day you need to have set aside for mushrooms. You probably want to farm the mushroom level for one or two days. I did it twice and got $50,000.

Farm iron and coal at level 40 and gold at level 80. Quartz is pretty abundant on both those levels.

I just planted 640 blueberries in my Year 1 summer. That was a $51200 investment in seeds that will return $422400 (not including silver or gold quality).

640 cranberries cost $153600 and return $524800 (not including silver or gold quality)

All 640 of these plots have a sprinkler (requires 80), meaning I am free to gather resources to expand my infrastructure and complete bundles. If I just so happen to see a red cabbage at the travelling merchant I'll take it, but no big deal otherwise. Over the summer I'll start producing artisan goods and I'm going to get some animals. When winter comes I'm going to get as many winter seeds going as I can. With all this I'll be well over a million by the time year one is over.
