So to long story short this. I used to be a store manager for this 3rd party company. It’s called Mobile City LLC. I worked for them for 6 months. They have locations in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, and Yonkers. They train everyone to push this sales tactic. It’s all about what’s “included” in the price not what’s is “free”.

There is one major reason I left. I refused to scam and fraud customers. Because I refused to push this tactic I was “under performing”. It came to the point that the owners of the company were telling me my job was on the line. This was then followed by a call from another store manager from the company that was friends with the owners. He called me to tell me I needed to do whatever it took to sell. Push as many lines, even if they didn’t need it, and sell as many accessories as I could. He told me not to worry about customer satisfaction or customer loyalty. Inflate the numbers as much as I could. I had two weeks to do this. Luckily I had an interview the same day I got that call and had a new job by the next week.

All management for the company is aware of what’s going on. All Area Managers, Marketing Managers, the IT department, and the owners are all in on this scam.
