SFV was their entire esports infrastructure and their most important brand for the genre. You can't really just drop and abandon it.

mvci didn't sell, had horrible press constantly, was restrictive in development/advertising due to disney, and the fgc scene didn't exactly start waves beyond the very dedicated.

Besides my love of mvc2/3, I can't personally see a single reason to try and salvage the game. Disney would be better off going out and making a new fighter for their brand if they still want one for marvel.

Which sucks because if you told be I could play Venom and Monster hunter in mvc4 a few years ago, I would have been hyped as all hell.
