St. Louis #2 on Best Cities for Jobs - Glassdoor report Oct 2018

I'm union, and I am proud. Thanks.

Don't pretend for one second that if your employer could hire two people to replace you for half (or less!) your wage they wouldn't do it. Think about all that free productivity!!

Talk to a blue collar worker. Ask them if they like working a prevailing wage job, even if it's for a couple months. Even if they're not in a union, they receive the full benefit, however briefly, of the advancements in compensation and workplace safety that unions have been (in some cases) forcing employers to adopt across the country for decades. In a prevailing wage area, it's not up to the employer to decide what your labor is worth, or under what conditions your work will be performed, but what people like you have decided your labor is worth, and how they feel safest performing the tasks at hand.

Is it perfect? Nope. Far from it. But, in my humble opinion, it beats the heck out of my individual financial eventuality being determined by whether or not I'm willing to fellate my boss for a raise that meets the cost of living each year.

United we stand, divided we chuck rocks at each other until a bigger fish comes along and eats us. Union or not, all of us non Fortune 500 CEO's ought to stick together man.
