St Thomas Aquinas that long ago that there is too much emphasis on original sin and not enough on our original blessings!!

I'm back, yes I will "present some kind of an argument".

  • The easy bit First blessings. We all have them. Not everybody recognises them. They r simple the things we take for granted. I.e. In my case I have family and friends, a home and a good life, all of which I remind myself when I would like something or someone or whatever and it is not going my way. Original blessings we all enjoy without ever counting. The universe, life, flora and fauna. Animals wild and pets. And so on,

  • Science is wonderful and every so often there are huge breakthroughs, sometimes scientists make claims that they later contradict, i.e. Carbon dating. It has been said that when scientists climb their last peak, they will find the theologians sitting at the top saying "what took u so long!"

  • Yes, we r all good and bad and both sides have to be worked on. The good has to be encouraged and the bad controlled. This for me is where Christ comes in. Firstly, God the Father gave Moses the 10 commandments which many live by some without realising it. When Christ was on earth he gave us another one "Love one another as I have loved u."

  • Christ through his works on earth showed us how to do this. By forgiving one another and to continually do so.

  • This is just an example, but as u might easily observe that Christianity is littered with failure, it is so hard to do. To get jealous for example is sometimes hard to recognise in ourselves, it is a negative emotion and therefore a sin. As is gluttony which we can all be guilty of too much to eat or drink.

  • As for Adam and Eve, science will no doubt prove they existed, though their is no doubt in my mind that their history was told to the best of ability at the time and to the capacity of the flock to understand given that they had little or no education at the time. Remember the Pope( one of them) accepted Darwin.
