Stabbing Investigation Underway in Northwest Portland's Couch Park - One Person Critically Injured

People make shitty decisions!

Hell, I've made a BUNCH of shitty decisions!

Life really IS kind of tough, and we all have moments where we want to get the hell away from it with food, or alcohol, or hookers, or football or whatever we need to fuck our brains with. And we all will often withdraw into our comforts instead of sucking it up and making the tough decisions...

But the vast majority of us stop before we wind up the sort of really awful predicaments because we come to the very basic realization that our avoidance of life's touch choices IS the leading cause of poor predicaments.

Some people don't. Some people get so deep in the hole that they lose that perspective. And you know what? I am more than happy to put my hand out to help them out! I'm a big supporter of addiction treatment and mental health services and job training.

But that isn't what we do. We, as a society, are becoming the worst fucking enablers. We let people shit on our city... but worst of all, we let people (literally) shit all over themselves, while putting nearly zero limits or pushback on a lifestyle that eats people's souls from the inside.

It's all very tragic, but at some point, people's decisions are their own, and they need to live with the consequences of how all those decisions have added up over time.
