Stable-Tec Studios - Vector, Writing & HR Department Leak - The State of Affairs in the FoE Animation Studio

Since this is a private message, and you're a mod, I'm just gonna post the entire convo between me and the 'executives' the night I left. Many of the things the directors said echo my issues with the group's management.

A quick backstory: I'd asked about some of the concerns the initial reddit post had brought up; mainly involving organization, and I'd offered to help create a master spreadsheet to help with visibility since the directors confessed we didn't have one. This is what happened next:

[9:21:55 PM] *** Director#2 added Mochi ***

[9:23:01 PM] Mochi: I don't think this a discussion we can have as long as [director#1] is on hard core muscle relaxers o.o

[9:23:22 PM] Director#1: i took one about 10 and a half hours ago

[9:23:53 PM] Director#2: Ok, if I may ask, what is the concern? I look over and see a machine gun of messages, and I just wanted to ask for the root

[9:23:58 PM] Director#1: i am hurt and confused as to why you are attacking me Mochi

[9:24:27 PM] Director#2: I'm a bit concerned as to how this all came about myself. It doesn't appear to have been very professional.

[9:24:36 PM] Director#1: i was willing to answer any and all questions you had in the private chat we had going

[9:25:08 PM] Director#1: i asked you to not bring it into the group chat because we have a chain of authority

[9:25:34 PM] Director#1: I have never shown you any disrespect or hostility

[9:26:03 PM] Mochi: Attacking you? When on earth did I attack you?

[9:26:11 PM] Director#1: [9:23 PM] Mochi:

<<< I don't think this a discussion we can have as long as [Director#1] is on hard core muscle relaxers o.o

[9:26:31 PM] Mochi: And what's all this about a chain of authority? You're acting as if I just stabbed you in the gut when all I did was ask about group organization.

[9:26:48 PM] Mochi: And you yourself told me you were! I want you to be okay, dude. Not throw a heavy discussion on ya when you're hurt.

[9:26:48 PM] Director#1: to the group - after i asked that you didn't

[9:27:15 PM] Director#1: i appreciate the concern but that was not the tone you set

[9:27:16 PM] Mochi: [Director#1], you yourself posted a massive essay-length bit about the drama that happened on Reddit. The information was up for grabs.

[9:27:17 PM] Director#2: You were talking direct to the source, then stepped directly past to do as you liked, in spite of a request not to.

[9:27:40 PM] Director#1: that information was released BECAUSE i authorized it

[9:27:46 PM] Mochi: Lack of organization is a huge problem for such an ambitious project, and it was a valid question to ask.

[9:27:59 PM] Director#2: This isn't about Reddit, or what to do about it - it's about organization, which apparently you didn't have the entire story on when you started going on about it in the business chat. *shrugs

[9:28:29 PM] Director#1: we have a stable organization that has lasted well beyond what even we anticipated

[9:28:34 PM] Director#2: It's why I suggested bringing it up to the directors, see what they are, or are not doing, and then see what might need assisting with. It makes sense.

[9:29:06 PM] Director#1: you are coming from a position of least knowledge - you have no idea how the executives organize things or arrange any of this

[9:29:15 PM] Mochi: You say that, but I certainly haven't seen anything about it. If the other members say they want a centralized project timeline, would you actually let that come to fruition?

[9:29:22 PM] Director#1: yes

[9:29:30 PM] Mochi: Okay, then.

[9:29:39 PM] Director#1: AFTER i asked the rest of the directors what they thought about it

[9:29:43 PM] Director#1: its why i have them

[9:29:51 PM] Director#2: You aren't one of the executives - I can see why you hadn't seen 'anything about it' though you ought to have had some idea that something was in place, given our progress thus far.

[9:30:07 PM] Mochi: And you say that I come from a place of no knowledge, and all I have to do is ask, but...I'm not psychic, dude. This is why transparency is important. I admit I was a bit surprised to hear that not all parts of the project forum are visible to all members.

[9:30:25 PM] Director#2: Had you signed up on them when we released it you would have.

[9:30:27 PM] Director#1: that is part of our organizational structure

[9:30:50 PM] Mochi: Well, I don't really see any of that structure, certainly not an a day-to-day basis.

[9:30:59 PM] Director#1: that is becuase we are not HERE day to day

[9:31:02 PM] Mochi: There's the mailshot, but hell, even LSoH had one of those. And they're dead in the water.

[9:31:03 PM] Director#1: we are not paid to be here

[9:31:04 PM] Director#2: It is as stated, open to the directors, who do the coordinating, and pass it down to the rest of their teams. We don't need everyone stepping over the top of everyone else - it's why we do have organization in nplace.

[9:31:18 PM] Director#1: i spend ALL my free time keeping this running as do many others

[9:31:33 PM] Mochi: Okay, it just...it just kinda feels that it's a bit megalomaniacal-ish when you keep wording it like that.

[9:31:41 PM] Director#2: ... seriously?

[9:31:56 PM] Director#2: He's the last one to say 'look at me, I'm doing a thing' here.

[9:32:56 PM] Director#1: you just walked in here in the last 15 minutes and told me and the crew that what we were doing was unorganized, badly planned and in no uncirtain terms not up to your standards

[9:32:59 PM] Director#2: It appears you're coming in from left field, demanding all access, and all knowledge, without understanding the base of what has been going on, why it's gone on, why it's done how it is done, and whether or not we should continue in that direction. It's not only reckless, it's a bit irresponsible.

[9:33:17 PM] Director#2: And it is definitely unprofessional.

[9:33:47 PM] Mochi: "you just walked in here in the last 15 minutes and told me and the crew that what we were doing was unorganized, badly planned and in no uncirtain terms not up to your standards"

[9:33:58 PM] Director#1: yes

[9:34:01 PM] Mochi: No. I asked IF we had a central organization, and what systems we had in place.

[9:34:19 PM] Mochi: Who's accusing who, now?

[9:34:52 PM] Director#2: ... Could see it pretty plain right then in the business chat, lady. Sorry to say it, but you've been the driving point on this. and not a particularly pleasant one at that.

[9:35:07 PM] Mochi: Literally all I did was ask some questions, and offer my time and energy into helping set up a central spreadsheet or something, since you said we don't have one.

[9:35:10 PM] Mochi: ...Wow.

[9:35:12 PM] Mochi: Okay, then.

[9:35:19 PM] Mochi: I'm just gonna bow out before this gets any worse.

[9:40:11 PM] Director#1: i am sorry this came to this point, i really didn't want this.

[9:43:44 PM] Mochi: I'm sorry [Director#1], but after tonight, I'm not so sure that you didn't.

[At this point I left the main chat; this the response I was given from Director#2]

[9:47:45 PM] Director#2: That was really inappropriate, and completely unnecessary.

[9:47:32 PM] Mochi: Well, good thing for us both then that I left, eh?

[9:47:45 PM] Director#2: No, not like that.

*** Mochi has left ***

You can make a judgment call based on that how you like. I realize that I risk my own behind in posting this. Heck, I'm probably risking my standing within the entire fandom. But I realized that despite the desire to put forth the idea that we're a group of volunteers, a family, all treated as equals, apparently the directors don't see it that way. But obviously, that's not the case. You either follow orders and never question their authority, OR ELSE.

I've also got a chat log from the "HR guy" confirming a lot of the dark secrets and history of the production. But he deleted over 70 of his 150 replies because he flipped out over coming clean. The more I learn, the more creeped out I get about the whole dang thing, you know?
