Staff report urges city to reject idea of Lime Ridge Mall arena

Andlauer's opening stance, in Nov 2017, was 50% of capital costs:

Andlauer says he would pay half and let the city decide where it goes.

“I don’t want to dictate that. I don’t know any better than the city councillors who represent the city,” Andlauer said. “You have got to do something. You can’t just keep the status quo. It doesn’t work in Hamilton.”

Two years later, Andlauer is down to less than half that: a one-time capital contribution of up to $30 million — on a project that has a budget almost five times that.

Urban development ideology aside, the city's numbers point to a $40 million gap between the status quo on the 19,000-cap FOC and the proposed 6,000 seat arena & 1,800 space parking garage. That would be the minimum gap that CF and Andlauer would need to close.
