If you don't want to show your hand, the best way to do that is use their tactics. Their tactics work. Smear them. Entrap them. Straight up lie. Steal votes. Gerrymander. Stonewall. Move in lockstep. Never eat your own. Manipulate. Sow discord and chaos in the minds of voters. Fear-monger. Create fake boogeymen.

Maybe I'm just a cynic. I don't know. I've never seen anything like this before in my life and every instinct I have is telling me not to do those things except my instinct for survival. That one is telling me we've got to get down there in the mud with them if we want to beat them.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to hunker down somewhere remote and see if I can wait this out. Cowardly. I know. But I don't know what else I can do personally. I'm not a fighter. I'm not a politician. I have no power. Voting apparently doesn't matter. I don't know who we can turn to. And I have a lot to lose.
