In the mid 00's a stalker/squatter was found to be living in a friends attic. He was coming and going through the master bedroom window and crawling into the attic via an opening in the walk-in wardrobe. The squatter cut the phone lines to the house when my friends parents were out of town. They actually cornered him in the attic with baseball bats once they found him but he got away when they ran to the neighbours to call the police. Cops found heaps of food wrappers in the attic. Never found the guy. I know it sounds like a creative writing exercise but 100% true and verified by several friends who were staying over the house that weekend. Something similar-ish was found to be happening at a neighbours house of mine a few years prior to the above story.
