Well after putting a QuicRun 8BL150 (3s-6s) combo into my 2wd Slash, and a Max10 SCT (2s-4s) combo into my 2wd Stampede... stock pads wouldn't last more than 2 or 3 runs without completely disintegrating. (Literally.) This won't happen with the aluminum pads. It's about as close as you can get to running a slipper clutch eliminator... while still having the slipper clutch functionality for protection. (That's assuming your gears are up to the task.) Like I said before tho... I run my slippers tight, and I run steel mod 1 gears. 32pitch gears might be up to the task also if you don't want to jump to mod 1's. 48pitch gears won't survive.. even steel.. there just isn't enough meat on the teeth themselves with 48p. Of course you can always just loosen things up to your liking if you don't like the touchyness... (I do.) but you will probably never need to buy another set of pads again.
