[Standard] Esper Control

Its going to take some time, but eventually were all going to realize Narsett is just not a control PW. She doesnt belong in these decks where shes dead on both her abilities very often has no protection and will lose players a lot of games vs heavy aggro decks or even just decent midrange ones. As a one of shes fine because of her ability to just win the mirror if you can protect her, but all in all I am just not even close to impressed with her.

Regardless of that I ran an esper dragon centric controlish deck last night. Silumgars scorn is the real deal, you need more dragons though, so I present to you the best card currently not being played: icefall regent. I know you all "know" what it does, but you dont quite get just how damn strong it is until you run it. I had 4 and 4 was the right number. It allows you to just straight out murder GW with silumgar and being able to play multiples unlike Ojutai is a huge boon for el drifting muerte. Having 8 dragons also means that its very unlikely that you dont just straight up have counterspell in the deck and dear god does it feel great to have that back. Another necessarry inclusion is foul tongue invocation. I ran 2 in the board and I wish I had one main.

Theres a lot of good going on in this deck, and im sure it will be a force post PT. Might I suggest that you lose radiant fountain for a haven of the spirit dragon though. Having a collorless land in a three color deck is just bad, haven can be a liabiliy sometimes as a one of even though it helps cast a few spells and its second ability is just really really good.

If anyone cares last night with my build, I steamrolled Jeskai, beat UWr heroic rather handily, and literally trampled GW like it wasnt even a constructed deck. I lost to Temur with Sarkan Unbroken, and attarkas, but only because my deck decided to draw 2 lands after a mull to 5 game one, and game 2 I literally drew 1 spell and 6 lands. We played a few games after the match and It felt pretty winnable as I won several games straight when my deck decided to draw both spells and lands. Also Sarkhan Unbroken is the real deal man. If he hits the board its just damn hard to win outside of a downfall and its blue so theres good chance theyre running counters anyway. He will be another breakout post PT in my opinion. Could be wrong though.
