Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker Spoilers INCLUDED MegaThread

I’ll have to see it again but if I’m perfectly honest, I was more impressed coming out of The Last Jedi. The first half of this film is bat shit crazy! I loved it. It was fast paced, dived straight in, great action, scenes and twists, but unfortunately, like TFA, JJ Abrams turns to his ways of pulling on our nostalgic strings... and gives something that felt pretty underwhelming.

It’s clear that JJ Abrams felt he was doing damage control from TLJ which honestly was uncalled for. The biggest gripe I have with this movie is with Reys parentage. Like why on Earth does she even have to be related to anybody? And if anyone, why not be a Skywalker by blood?

I don’t want to sound like someone who turns into a professional director because I’m not, and I know these projects can be crazy difficult to work on but JJ has given into some dogshit fan theories and as a result, we’ve got some tribute, fan fiction ending.

It really kills me to say this but I genuinely feel so underwhelmed. Kylo Ren and Rey are such amazing characters (possibly my favourites in the entire saga) but this film is going to cause some serious ruckus amongst the community. I’m going to see it again this weekend. I hope it’s not a cringey second time round
