Starbucks closes location that was the first to unionize in Seattle

Why not affiliate with other unions, perhaps nationally or even internationally. Leverage the power of workers as a while to apply pressure to a global chain and via that one gesture to employers as a whole. Lobby government, or governments in the plural to demand workplace protections and limit the power of strike busting nonsense like this.

Why not insist that despite working for a living, we matter. And when our lives and well being are treated as disposable and to be sacrificed for some rich jerk’s next yacht upgrade, actually use our collective power to push back.

Crazy talk I know. I’ll go wash the taste of this nonsense out of my mouth with the designer boot of some MBA who’s never been close to the pressure of a Monday morning coffee rush, or lifted anything even close to the body weight to bag weight of delivery of supplies to coffee shop as shelved by the average barista.
