I start a new job tomorrow and I'm walking home alone 1.5 miles on a dangerous street late at night. Tips??

you’ll be able to make friends with them soon and hopefully someone will offer to carpool with you! maybe scope out the situation with your coworkers like “oh where do you live? that’s cool i live around there too! but i walk home o_o so it’s kinda scary haha! maybe we could carpool sometime!” I don’t know. but besides that i second everything that’s been said here, like personal protection devices like wasp spray and alarms are super helpful. also, maybe because your new manager kind of experienced your parents already and is on your side, maybe open up to her and say something like “hey, so my parents don’t want to pick me up and i’m a little nervous to walk home, what do you think the safest way to get to (your neighborhood) is?” good luck girl!!!
