Started reading LOTR a year back, and just began The Two Towers.

There’s a lot of travelling in the second half of the two towers since Frodo, Sam and Gollum are going to Mordor. Lots of description of the scenery. But I feel like it fits in nicely because it describes how terrible and hopeless their journey is. I sometimes tune out a bit reading the descriptions of the grass and trees and the different flowers that are around them etc.. for me it’s all about the interaction with each other and sams distrust of Gollum, that’s what I really enjoy reading about.

So yeah I find it a tiny bit boring at times but I also like knowing exactly where they are and where they are going because I like to stop and take a look at the map of middle earth and see where they are on the map.
