Starting the journey to a healthy BMI. (from BMI 34 to 23)

I didn't want to make the top comment a TL;DR. So everything in more detail. I am a 21yo student in England, I realized over Christmas that I was too big and I needed to stop looking at it and convince myself I am happy, I needed to lose it. I was 17st with a BMI of 34.1, I am aiming for 11st6lb with a BMI of 23. I have lost arround 1st so far and I am on day 39 of using myfitnesspal to help me track calorie intake set to lose 2lb a week. I currently have a lot of deadlines so big schedule changes are out of the question for the moment. (I don't even have the time to hold a part time job at the moment) Once the deadline period is over I am planning on joining the local gym, for the moment I walk everywhere that is under 1 hour walk away. Luckily I have changed my diet so I snack so rarely, this is though eating once or twice a day (I understand this is an unhealthy way to eat). Learning portion control is the big problem, due to my controled diet at the moment I have started taking vitimin tablets that supply me with everything I need (based of what I already get from my food). Due to my size I find stamina based sports extremely difficult so I tend to avoid football. I do recurve archery for 6 hours a week though, its not a particularly strenuous activity but its better than getting bored and eating because I'm bored. I dont think I have talked about the kind of foods I like to reach for so I will finish with this. I have cut all deserts from my diet, the sweetest things I currently have is a bottle of Oasis or some chewing gum. My problem is "greggs" a northen England bakery chain that specialises in pasties. Im a sucker when it comes to carbohydrates, most foods go into a sandwich or with pasta. I am not overshooting my limits because I'm keeping an eye on my portions. I realize that this might not have been the most coherent post to follow, I'm not going to proof read it but if there are any further questions feel free to ask.
