Starting a new job a 90 minutes drive away. Company is providing hotel (Marriott. Residence Inn or Springhill Suites, my choice). Any tips?

you should stay at the one that costs more.

Something that noone else seem to be mentioning in these comments is taxes, as the more expensive the place the more you have to pay in taxes. Most housing costs provided by employers is considered as income. Although you received no actual money, it's taxed the same way your regular income is. There are a few exceptions, but this article says that housing provided to due to long commute does not exempt one from taxes. The only way in which you pay no taxes is if your company does a "gross-up". This basically means that they pay the IRS the estimated amount of tax that you would have paid. OP (/u/jinsaku) do you know if your company will do a "gross-up" on this cost?
