The State of Destiny 2

The most promising thing for me honestly wasn't even a specific change they've made, but their new communications podcast and their direct statement about how they recognize players want this game to be more than just a disk on the shelf, but a hobby in its own right.

A lot of the work they did in D1 (specifically Joe Staten) was built around this idea: Creating an interactive and dynamic world, a mysterious and profoundly deep lore, and a journey through DLC and live updates that would continue to support the game through their "10 year plan". Destiny 2 seemed to be an abandonment of that idea, and I hope now they recognize that, just because they fucked up en route to their goal, doesn't mean it's not still attainable.
