State moving to strip Des Moines Public Schools superintendent of license over in-person learning

From what I understand he doesn't want parents to have a choice, he wants online only. Some parents want online only and some parents want full time in person. Maybe some parents need full time in school for their children because they don't earn enough for daycare. Maybe some parents need their children to stay home because a family member is immune compromised. Just two examples, some feel online learning is slowing down their children's learning because they feel their children learn better face to face. Some parents belive there is no difference online compared to in person. We have a republican governor and Republicans belive its up to the parents while democrats belive they know what's best. Of course if the Super isn't following the guidelines both sides agreed to the governor is going to step in. I'm a political layman and I understand this
