When I first visited my brother in Toronto, I was approached by these people in downtown, main Street, mall, Ttc etc basically everywhere. I usually gave them some coins hoping to let them go peacefully (I was too afraid to say no and I feel sorry for them too) some of them looked greedy though.

One day when I was shopping, there were two kids (about 14-16)asked me for money, they looked clean and good, I didn’t think they were poor therefore I said no. Thus I didn’t have change that day. They laughed and threw some leafs (wtf) on me. Never expected kids need to ask for money in big city like Toronto. I was shocked by their attitude too.
