State of the Subreddit - August 2022

Agreed overall.

I'd say that those other places, like twitch chats, twitter and Youtube comment sections, also deserve as harsh of a reputation as they give to this subreddit.. Idk if I could go so far as to say this place doesn't deserve most of the rep it gets though. There's this weird tribalism users sometimes show where have where they have to call-out every other social platform as if there's isn't equally as capable of toxicity, and that does happen more on other platforms for sure.

It's the mod team working as hard as they do that makes this place as palatable as it is. It's a testament to them that we can browse the front page and have an enjoyable experience, and that level of care just isn't present on youtube, twitch, or on twitter. In those places you either agree with the content creator, or you are bullied and shamed by users and even the mod teams themselves. This is one of the few Destiny communities where you can openly disagree with others, and that automatically makes it the best one.
