State of the Subreddit: Passing 300K users, and an informal discussion

I have two big gripes about this subreddit. And I shouldn't gripe because this subreddit is awesome and I'm very happy to be a part of it. After all, we are all here just trying to save money. But, here they are.

1) Steam, albeit the best at what it does (IMHO), is not the only retailer out there. I feel like everyone in this sub holds every other retailer/system/company to the standards that are used by Steam. Steam is great, and it's actually the only gaming software I use on my PC, but it is not the only one out there. I think if we are going to be a subreddit comprised of finding simply good deals on all games available, than we need to respect the fact that not all games are available on Steam, or only available through Steam. Downvoting or disagreeing with a post because something isn't a deal for Steam explicitly isn't what this subreddit should be about.

2) I think my biggest complaint though is the number of times I'm told that a deal already exists on Steam, when I posted an Amazon or Nuuvem deal. I get it, there are price matching occasions, but if we are going to be a subreddit who inspire our searching based on the Flair, than we need to allow and encourage all sites who offer a deal to be posted. Hear me out here folks...not everyone can spend money on Steam. Some people either only get money, or only have money, available, through Amazon Gift cards, or New Egg, or Best Buy etc... I can't tell you the number of times I post a deal on Amazon, which turns out to be the same deal price as on Steam and I get downvoted and disregarded. I believe it best that more deals be shown and people can search or sift through them as needed. If I find a good deal, I shouldn't have to go to every other site to determine whether or not it's a price matched deal.
