Stay away from Levels Performance!

I've never posted about this publicly because i hate getting into drama shitstorms on the internet, but I had pretty much the same experience as you, and hundreds of other people (seriously, go lurk on his facebook page, or google for more than 2 minutes, you can't avoid the customer complaints everywhere). Hopefully this post will help others avoid sharing our experience.

I did a lot of research on FMIC options and landed on the levels because my local ST group raved about them, and they're a pretty decent price. When I was looking to buy, he was very responsive about questions on facebook, and spoke with me directly on messenger, was generally very helpful. I pulled the trigger on my order, and received no response for over 3 months. I tried to stay lenient because I know this guy is a 1 man operation, and i know he's making these custom, so i started trying to get in contact privately over email or the facebook chat we had already started once every 2 or so weeks. Nothing on email, or facebook. Meanwhile, as I sit around waiting for a few more months, I'm seeing him post on facebook about how great his business is going, and how he's expanding to cover more cars and striking up deals with different companies and shops. I saw my local performance parts shop fully stocked with his products, regularly receiving shipments. I'm also seeing people with order numbers higher than mine getting taken care of publicly on his feed, while I'm still waiting for a response, let alone a tracking number, and half of the comments section on these fb posts are people asking where their 5+ month old order is. The weird part is, he has loyal fans who will attack these people as if waiting 5+ months for a prepaid order with no contact is the norm. Finally I cave on my silence, and ask my facebook group why they recommended this guy to me when he won't even talk to his customers. Someone tagged him in the post, and since that had the potential to sway future buyers he was quick to respond with his cookie cutter "I'm welding them up as fast as i can, I'm still catching up on orders, blah blah supplies blah blah thank you for understanding". I told him because the only way i could get into contact with him was through a callout on facebook I wanted to cancel my order and get my money back immediately. He made up a story about how he had already sent the order out, and it was on it's way. He told me he would pm me a tracking number. When i confronted him about the tracking number (which was made a day after he made the post), he said he's dropping it off "now". I got my intercooler a week later.

Now I get that this guy is a 1 man operation, but he's a skeevy businessman. Not only did this guy ignore me completely, along with all his other customers, but he lied to keep the sale once I wanted my money back. He isn't shipping product incrementally by order number, he's shipping product to those who start asking for their money back. If he was just starting out, i would understand him being overwhelmed by an influx of business. But he's been at this for years. If you look into his post and forums history, he has tons of documented instances, some over 3 years ago where he's claiming he's in the process of hiring more staff, and he's almost caught up on his orders. Over this time he has taken in a huge amount of business over that time and should have been able to use his resources to adjust his business to the demand by now. My personal experience was over half a year ago and clearly it's still a problem today. Even though Doll makes a great product, I wish he would have just given me my money back so I could have supported a business that respected me as a customer. I'm embarrassed to have his logo plastered on the front of my car.
