We are literally at the point where some people think reality and/or acknowledging/expressing it as it exists, is a hate crime.

Then, in order to feel like they are morally righteous people, some others in society are indulging those people in their (often dangerous or deadly) delusions.

There's a saying I heard from a homeless fellow once. I forget the verbatim quote, but he basically said that there are 2 types of "friends", nice friends, and good friends. A nice friend will help you find a vein to stick your needle in, because they know that if they do, you'll be around to help them do the same. A good friend on the other hand, will throw you in the back of a van, dose you with a sedative, and put you on a flight to a rehab across the country.

He was half joking but he really had a good point. I think that's basically what we have going on in society right now with the you know whos.
