Steam: Paid Mods Megathread 2.

I feel like absolute shit, that as a community we have no effect on the outcome of the paid mod decision, no voice on shitty PC ports, no voice on ANYTHING.

I feel no matter what we say, how much we complain, no matter what is written to Valve, EA, Ubisoft etc. it won't make a difference.

People can't even being to understand how this will effect the PC gaming industry as a whole. "It's not a big deal" people, just do not understand what this means for the future of PC gaming.

What are we supposed to do? I feel like no matter what is said or done, nothing is going to change. The spirit of modding has always been of free trade to the players, and donations if the people who use the mod feel they can donate.

Seriously, all the topics that reddit makes, all the complaints that people put to steam, all the calls, all the emails. Will it make a difference or are we all just yelling at a brick wall hoping it will fall?

This depresses me a little, I grew up with PC gaming. This corporate greed just sickens me to the core, maybe we need another gaming crash similar to the E.T. on Atari, debacle.

Something has to give, between horrible PC ports, lack of support, Day one DLC, horrible refund policies, lack of customer support.

EA releasing shitty games, Ubisoft releasing shitty games. Non-tested releases. How in the hell are gaming companies getting away with this over and over? I just don't understand it. I mean the biggest example was Mortal Kombat PC, it was a terrible release.

It's always the same thing, shitty game is released, people complain, nothing is done, people KEEP buying. This "vote with your wallet" thing isn't working. There has to be SOMETHING else that can be done. How much more can people take. No matter what we say, what we do it just doesn't fucking matter. I can't even understand what we are supposed to do?

This just scares me how LITTLE power we have.
