Steam Reaches One Billion Accounts

Damn I made my account in September 2003. I remember hating steam when it first came out because of how much more work it made playing the only game I cared about on PC at the time..counter strike. Before it was a marketplace and was basically a valve launcher. Day of defeat, natural selection, battlegrounds (the revolutionary war mod), gang wars. Half life mods were my entire childhood. It was an ugly ass green clunky interface. It always crashed, wouldn’t connect to internet, or froze. I had it titled as “steam-ing pile of shit” it’s come a long way. I’ve grown to really appreciate steam and how valve initially changed the pc gaming industry and market. It’s too bad console and mobile practices have come to PC..15 Years has seen a lot of changes. not always for the better.
