Steam Winter Sale 2016 Megathread

Trying to refund a game I bought a week ago but played 68 hours..

So the game I bought a week ago was Vermintide.

It was the Christmas vacation so I had a ton of time to play and it was a blast, thoroughly enjoyed it and would have wanted to play more.

However problems had occurred a few days later.

I kept getting server disconnection errors whether just after launching the game, or just after a mission is finished. This actually means that I'd be able to play for 30 minutes to an hour... and upon the mission ending, I'd be disconnected and obviously get no rewards.

This has happened quite a few times already which is quite frustrating.

The problem is it's a game I enjoy and can still log more hours on - it's an FPS/multiplayer game (like Left 4 Dead); and it's set in the Warhammer universe which I am engrossed in.

However, being disconnected often kinda screws with that. It's like buying a game and power-leveling for a couple of days, then finding out later that you can't play anymore.

I have a 5mbps connection which has no problems playing online games besides Vermintide. I have done all the necessary checks and troubleshooting (cache, flushdns, reinstallation, checking isp, etc) and still no dice. I know the problem isn't on my end.

One guess I have is that the game's servers somehow flag certain IP's or regions whenever problems occur (ie. hacks, ddos, etc). I've spoken with other players who've also had similar issues (those who live in the Philippines same as myself, and those in China).

That's just a guess though because despite posting in the game's subreddit, technical help website, and Steam discussion --- no one has actually replied to me on how to fix this.

Any advice from you guys on how to go about this? Does Steam still issue refunds for cases such as this (lots of playtime for a game, but later on unable to play due to server issues)?
