The Steam Winter Sale is now live!

This is how retail works. You can only lower the price of a product to the MAP pricing. There is MAP and MSRP. MSRP is normal selling price, MAP is lowest you are legally allowed to sell it for.

The maker of the game or manufacturer of the product can sell it much lower.

This is why you should never be mad at small retail stores for not having gigantic sales like a walmart. They are simply not allowed to.

I own a large sporting retail store in Toronto and it is a major headache for everyone. Nike sends their dealers info on new MAP pricing, then lowers it 20 percent less than they let their dealer partners sell it for. Killing any sales you may have.
