STEP success

I got STEP tickets really early in 2019. I asked for one FOMO and one regular priced ticket. The FOMO came up in about 3 weeks and the regular priced ticket came up just 1 DAY later. It ended up being two transactions. What I think happened was the FOMO purchase popped me up to the top of all of the lists and I got the next regular priced ticket that became available. I don’t think I was in separate lines for each type of ticket or was waiting for someone selling the the 1 FOMO/1 regular set since I signed up for STEP an hour late and the two didn’t come up at the same time. I got SUPER lucky!! BUT I know they’ve redone the ticket sale process since then. They used to outsource the back side (ticket fly or some such) and I think the main sale this year was run all in house. They probably also changed the STEP back end too. So who knows! But if you want tickets this year before August or at all from STEP, if you can afford it (I realize I’m speaking from a place of privilege) I recommended friends ask for at least 1 of the 2,500 and 1 regular priced ticket or two 1,500 if they entered the sale the day it opened. If you’re just entering STEP now you probably won’t get them unless you can stomach 2 of the outrageously expensive ones.

Ticket sales are super crappy this year :((( I know someone affiliated with the org. They said the population is actually going to be smaller this year because the org lost a bunch of their best workers who had to take other jobs through the pandemic. They also said the population will probably be back up next year as they gain back some momentum.
