STEPHEN KING'S IT 2017 OFFICIAL TRAILER

You honestly think this movie is going to be better than The shining, The Shawshank Redemption, or Stand By Me? Fat chance. The Shawshank Redemption is ranked on the AFI's top 100 movies at #72. I'm of the opinion that The Shining is the best horror movie ever made. I would go so far as to say one of the best movies ever made despite not making AFI's silly list. Somehow I don't see this film, a reboot of an already good film, being King's best book-to-movie interpretation ever.

It's directed by a nobody who only made one supernatural horror film previous to IT. Not to take away from his directing ability, just noting he's up against Stanley Kubrick, arguably the greatest film director of all time. Stand By Me was directed by Rob Reiner and Shawshank was directed by Frank Darabont. Not only were these King adaptions directed by Titans of film, they starred some of Hollywoods greatest actors including Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins, and Corey Feldman!

I don't know how you came to the conclusion that this has the potential to be King's best adaption ever based on a trailer. Unless of course you've never seen any other King adaptions.
