Still no EQN news *Sigh*

Just popping in, was going to post something along the lines of what OP used for the title. I guess I'm just here for some comfort.

I bought into the closed beta last spring/summer, had a friend buy in as well. Well I fucking regret it. I gave money and convinced a friend to give money towards a project that appears to have gone wildly off the rails into something I would have never wanted to support in the first place. If I wanted to play Minecraft, I would simply go play Minecraft. I was trying to give money towards a company that lured me in with what sounded like a bad ass concept for an MMO. We're going on years ago that I watched a video about some Lion/Tiger dude ripping through a world, dynamic servers/worlds where one group of players' experience could be totally different than anothers'. Giant, server-wide quests to erect cities, etc. That blew my fucking mind! It put me into a "please! Take my money! Make that game!" mindset. Now here I am, and every time I try to get an update on the game I just get to read about some dumb ass fucking lamp texture they've added to the bastard child the game I meant to pay for had with Minecraft. "You can now Ctrl-Shift to shove the interface straight up your ass". Great.

For all the people with the rose tinted glasses about the productivity/constructivity of this exercise in ADD tangents, I've been following this shit for quite some time now, and wayyyyyy back when, they pretty much said next to nothing player-created would make it into the game. They're deceitfully implying shit you sit around making might be in a game, when it won't, all the while you are feeding their true motivations: micro-transactions.

Every MMO out right now sucks balls, mostly because of freemium, money grubbing bullshit, and it's essentially play WoW or don't play any at all. RIFT sucks, TERA sucks, SWTOR sucks, ArcheAge MEGA sucks (and is a cash sink and nothing more), EVE sucks. Everything fucking sucks, and EQN is the only game with any potential on the horizon, and it's just so fucking irritating that every time I go to find news about this game I thought I was helping to fund the development of, I am confronted with the even greater certainty I funded nothing but a vehicle for fucking money-grubbers to steal from nerds (that's you guys that think your buildings will be in game).

At this point I don't think EQN will ever come out, because while they are horsing around with this Landmark bullshit, the same thing is going to happen to EQN that happened with Blizzard's pet project (working title was like "Titan" or something): too much time will pass and their ambitious ideas and visual tech will become too dated to use.

RIP EQN, I wish I could thank you for the memories
