Stop being creepy and traumatising women

Holy mother of putting words in people's mouths.

Are you saying we as men already accept sexual predators?

I didn't say men or women accept them. But the short answer is yes, there are plenty who do even if it's inadvertent. Sexual harassment isn't like some black and white action. We're not talking about "what does society think if they walk around a corner and a woman is being raped or physically assaulted". This is about harassment in the "grey area" where plenty of normal and upstanding guys (and girls, this is not a gender issue) will turn a blind eye to something. Or decide it's not their business. Come live in NYC. Girls get catcalled on the fucking street all the fucking time and no one bats an eye. That's a form of sexual harassment, there's no debating it. You think those fucks are going to be catcalling if every guy/girl in their own social circles was like "bruh, not cool. grow the fuck up." when they do it?

Are you saying that is socially acceptable?

What I'm saying is society clearly is not presenting a strong enough deterring pressure to things that fall in the "That's a grey area. Probably not right, but I don't want to get into someone else's business or have the awkward confrontation of calling some stranger or even my friends out on it".

Group think is a very real and strong influence in society. If you look at the past 50 years we've seen a huge cultural shift for the positive, but to think where we are at now is "welp this is the best that we can do. shitty people exist, just kick them out of the gym. using cultural and social pressures against them clearly doesn't work" is complete bullshit and not how we've made progress thus far.
