Stop being dramatic Karen

Thanks for the source. I've read the FBI data before, generally everytime this discourse comes up. But while the claim of the ratio being 2:1 is about correct, it's also an out of context stat being used to propagate malice. The difference in the raw numbers is a couple hundred.

It's scary and dramatic to say "black people murder twice as many white people versus whites murdering black people". It's certainly much scarier than saying "there were 300 hundred more cases of black on white versus white on black homicides in 2019."

My issue with people littering this thread with such statements is they don't actually care about the numbers. They're using statistics as a method of fear mongering, blaming it on "culture"

Using the same data that you provided me, I can say "whites commit 70% of all rape!" I don't want to conflate the repetitive arguments that have been made in this thread to yourself; you could just be the messenger. But using those numbers can I assert that white rape is a problem with "culture"? Should I be afraid of a white man when I'm alone with him?

We could dive deeper into statistics, and even look beyond spreadsheets. For example, we could examine, using the same data provided , that 98% of all rape committed in 2019 was by a male.

We could make the argument that it's male "culture". In some ways I could agree, I do think society has crafted men that are emotionally hollow and overtly competitiveness. But am I going to decry all men, spread fear of them, because 98% of rape crime was done by them?

The same could be made for DUIs, whom white people overwhelmingly hold the majority for in terms of charges. Is getting shit faced on the road a white thing? Should I be cautious getting in the car with a white friend? Maybe not, unless I know they've been drinking.

The point is, I'm not going to use a statistic that depicts a small number of people as a manner of demonizing them (in this case, men). Truthfully, the people who use these statistics couldn't give a shit about black on white crime, and they don't care about the causes of black on black crime (or any crime, really).

I'm not attributing this to you, but most of the people in this thread live in a quaint, majority white suburban "paradise" and they never leave their home. Their entire personality has been crafted through the lens of extremists on the internet or extremists on TV. They don't want to address black on black crime at its roots because they either don't care or they know the reality of it, regardless they just want to feel superior.

Worse, outside these extremists everybody in this country ignores how our current system perseveres the skeleton of systemic racism. Even moderates or "the woke left" as they're referred to don't actually care about upending or adjusting the system that locks the poor into poverty.

I digress, it's not like a racist is going to read this and change their mind. Whatever your opinion is you're probably locked in on that as well
