STOP BLAMING THE DOG

"Your dog bit her!" Sally asked her sister what the two of them were doing when it happened and she says that "they were cuddling and then he just snapped at her."

"NEVER LEAVE YOUR DOG WITH A BABY UNATTENDED."

I don't buy the "just cuddling" part. Children and babies are menaces to pets, and never understand the warnings a pet gives.

Absolutely no one is saying jack shit about her and is instead deflecting to the owner (rightfully so) and the dog.

No, not rightfully so. See above, children and babies torture animals on a regular basis. The mother should be getting blamed for negligence, while the owner does deserve some flak, it's not exclusively her who needs to shoulder the blame.

The dog didn't chase her down, he nipped her cheek and it looks like a zit now. No medical attention was needed.

This is a warning when a growl didn't work. The child has obviously provoked the dog enough to warrant a slightly more forceful reaction.

I'm guessing here, but I suspect the mother was on her phone in a world of her own, I'd not be surprised if she smacked the dog herself following this incident, and she's complaining about the dog being violent because her options are to admit she's negligent or use the dog as a patsy.
