I don't think you get what I meant in the initial post. Nobody says that they are brothers to one another or are going to take fall for one another or something like that. Keeping EU and US out **is a political position** and they both support it, that's where their interests are aligned, they understand that either they keep in touch and sort shit out themselves, or US will do it with blatant disrespect to the interests of either. If you haven't seen GoT, Littlefinger and Varys couldn't have been further apart in terms of personal interests, but they do get that they should cooperate and treat one another with respect to survive in this situation. I don't say there is no clash in interests, I just say that they have no luxury of beating the shit out of one another anymore and it can be considered a good thing. They sorted out Syria on the phone recently, they sorted out Karabakh on the phone, they sorted out all that jazz with peace troops from Turkey on the phone, you have to acknowledge that it's not like it used to be anymore.
