I was just at the Tohickon release last weekend for my PFD, excellent weather excellent time! Anywho, on my second lap down (around 2pm) I noticed an older gentleman standing on the shore emptying out his large, green big box store brand flatwater kayak. This was at Corner Hole, a small class 2. I was in an eddy watching what his plan was. He ended up getting out again after his boat got swamped going down it. I had asked if he was ok and needed any help but he said no.

Anyways, later on my third lap around 430 he had made it down to Race Course where he was making the portage around. People were talking about him at the takeout saying his hands were bloody or something and that he was very adamant about not taking any help.

I'd like to think he didn't know there was a release that weekend but idk
