Story Time: Friend won’t let go of sinking ship...

Another issue that will come up is that when they're in their 70's, they'll want to downsize and live in a walkable community. Children now don't want to live in a large home they have to spend hours a week on maintenance. Their lifestyle is probably walking to an urban area with friends and going home to netflix. The days of spending 10 hours a week on lawn, exterior, big gardens, cleaning are over. They're also not able to pass on the asset in the case of today's adult children not wanting to live far from work, friends and shops...which would likely be underwater at inheritance anyway and cost them too much in attorney's fees. Do they have a good advisor they can talk to? Predatory lenders should not have approved their loan despite a large savings and down payment.
