Storytime Wednesday for May 4, 2016! Come show and tell /r/magicTCG about all your sweet pulls, foiled out decks, topdecks, bad beats!

I have been in need of draft practice. Bad.

So yesterday, I debate going to my LGS's draft, but the itch sets in and I decide I'm going to draft online instead.

I enter a single elim get a decent pool, I draft UB Zombie control. Match 1: BW lifegain (aristocrat) control. Get land screwed Game 1. Also lose game 2.

So I pay another $14 and try again. This time I wind up with RB vampires. A decent pull too. Match 1, RG Werewolves. Both games, Turn 4, pump pump double strike. Alas, I lose again.

Total time: 1 hour 30 min.

The LGS tournament hadn't started yet, so I race up there and enter their draft. It is Swiss rounds + participation pack.

I decide to draft the same deck that just beat me (RG Werewolves)

Match 1: UB fliers/control. Game 1 he bounced every creature I had down with a shores, on my own turn, and I had to choose what to discard. I ultimately lost cause I couldn't keep a threat on the board. Game 2, we got each other down to 4...and I managed to get through unblocked with double strike for the win. Game 3, I got land flooded and only got a bloodseeker down and lost pretty quickly to his fliers even with the +2/-2 every turn. Lost 1-2

Match 2 was against GW delirium. I managed to get the pump pump double strike combo off, pretty well both matches. Won 2-0

At this time, I'm looking at the pairings board for the first two rounds and realize that there are 2 undefeated, and 2 that are 1-1, me and my first opponent. Everyone else dropped out except one guy. I was hoping for the bye. Nope, my first opponent gets the bye and I got paired down.

BG Investigate. Game 1 he gains like 15 life and stalls. We back and forth stalemate for several minutes. He Pops clues like mad. Draws every card in his deck except for two. I'm getting excited about the possibility that he's going to die to mill any second. Then, not kidding you, plays a damn Epitaph Golem. Puts Macabre Waltz back in his deck, and with 4 life, I decide to concede.
