Struggling to play Winston in high Elo

Sadly I can't check out the VOD (lost PC setup waiting on new one), but I used to be a Top 500 Main Tank and specialized in dive tanks like Winston.

Based on people's comments I assume you are high enough to know the basics so I will gloss over that stuff. Biggest things I see less experienced Winstons doing is Bubble use. With the obvious aside (only use bubble when you want to push), people are way too fast to use Bubble. Bubble is on a very long cool down, so if you dive in or are pushing and notice not much damage is or will be thrown at you because the opponents are distracted. Then don't use bubble until they notice you and then use it. Way too many players use bubble right away before accessing the situation.

Another thing I see is players not taking the time to set themselves up before a fight. Your goal isn't to use your leap, your goal is to set your self on a highground or location where you can simply walk/drop into the opponents. So when you are setting your self up for attack or are defense. Think of where the opponents are/will be and put your self so you have easy access to them.

When using his ult DO NOT just go for solo kills, I see that wayyyyyyyyyy too much. Just think of it like a cracked out lucio boop that makes you tanky, what you are looking for when ulting is a couple things. Either A.) Someone is very low in the back and you see any easy opportunities to get a couple hits in and GTFO before you are melted. B.) A much more common situation is the Tanks are literally just existing and doing their jobs in the frontlines. So something you can do is jump behind them and boop them DEEP into your team and keep them there until they die. C.) Use your ult to counter Blade and other things that would harass your team.
