Struggling with the cross of infertility

I’m so sorry. Some people mean well but just come across as assholes.

Don’t loss hope. If God wants you to have a baby, you will have a baby. I’ve been working as a mother baby nurse for 8 years and have definitely seen some miracles! One mom was 46 and had tried to have a baby her whole adult life. She thought she was going through menopause and went to the doctor… only to find out she was pregnant with twins! Another family had just adopted a newborn because they thought they couldn’t have a biologically, and she found out she was pregnant two weeks after.

I hope I’m not hurting you by telling you these stories, but I just want you to know that anything is possible. Also, there are many ways to be open to life. Have you considered adopting or becoming a foster parent? I’ve seen some beautiful families come together through adoption.

And this might be a little controversial (I don’t know if the Church has an official position on this) but you could look into adopting a “snowflake baby”. These are babies that were created through IVF but ultimately not implanted. I know the Church doesn’t agree with IVF, but you wouldn’t be the one doing the IVF stuff. I kind of see it as adopting a baby, just really early in it’s life. The doctor would transfer the baby into you, and you would carry the baby through pregnancy. Again, I don’t know if this goes against Church teaching, so maybe check with your priest first.
