Struggling with hotbar setup using any job. Any help is appreciated.

These are my hotbars:

I just cleared my entire hotbar setup for AST recently because I haven't played it in a while and I want to redo it before I play it next.

I use an MMO mouse so I can bind everything to my number keys, but I didn't always use an MMO mouse and what I did before was use 12345 and then qertfcv. So if you have no MMO mouse, then just pretend my 67890-= keys are qertfcv instead.

My general strategy with healer hotbars are GCD single target heals, then GCD regen, then GCD aoe then GCD aoe+regen on the non-modified keys. Then I have my main damage on ALT+1 and my DOT on ALT+2.

Non-healers will have their main combo pieces on the non-modified bar. I always put my execute on 5. Not sure why, that's just where I put Misery's End when I first started playing this game (Bard was my first job), and then just kept doing that.

For every job except Monk, Bard, BLM, and SMN I have my main AoE attack on Shift+2 then any more AoEs will just fill my Shift hotkeys to the right.

All my melee jobs have their ranged attack on shift+1 and SCH/BLM/SMN have their instant cast single target spell on Shift+1.

Every single job I put all my role actions on the top right in rows of 5.

Big actions, actions that toggle some state, or actions I won't use very often go on my = key (Hide, Raise, Gauss Barrel, Foe's, as a few examples).

Stuns, Silences, and Sleeps go on Shift+6 if I have them, if I don't then my gap closer goes on Shift+6 (because Shoulder Tackle is both and I got used to having a gap closer there, so that's where I put it for Samurai). If I have both, then the gap closer goes on Shift+7 (Aetherial Manip and Shukuchi for example).

There are a bunch of things I try to put in the same spot for each job. Before I start leveling a job up I plan out all my skill locations so I never have to switch anything up because getting that muscle memory in is super important. The hardest thing is figuring out where I want those things to go for separate roles since you're going to be dealing with a completely different set of skills, but for the most part everything that shares a type of effect is either on the exact same key or a key very close to it for each job.
