Struggling with post-poverty mental health

There is some PTSD in poverty, love. You've done a great thing with your life and one of the things that is a hallmark of PTSD is that...when everything finally settles...the trauma starts to show because you're safe enough to heal. It's OK to get therapy.

Also- I'm broke. I'm never going to make the 6 figures but lord willing I'll get out of poverty before my oldest hits puberty. I'm pouring myself into tutoring him in my spare time, taking him to STEM classes that are free at the library, etc, because he can be an engineer and make 6 figures some day too and he deserves that. Your story gives me so much hope for him. Good job, man.
