They also accept 98% of people who apply, so getting accepted is not an accomplishment. These programs prey on people who are absolutely convinced that they won’t be the person with that debt-load making $12/hr or getting a salaried position at a restaurant that might pay $35k amd requires 70 hour work weeks. It doesn’t matter that’s the far more likely scenario than not. No one thinks they’ll be the on average or below average part of that post-graduation earning curve.

Please do the math OP. Think about what those loan payments will be every month and what the cost of living is in the cities where culinary grads might be making more money. I have to imagine that’s what her parents are doing and why they will never agree to co-sign their daughter into years of stress and struggle.
