When you finish filling out your application and hit the submit button, there will be a page telling you what you're entitled to based on the information you gave them. Just below that there will be a box where you can choose to accept less than what you're entitled to. In that box you can enter the amount of the grants, which will result in receiving only the grants.

For example:

"You're entitled to $12,375"

In the box here you would enter $6,000 which is the amount of the maximum grant for both fall and winter semester.

This method assumes you qualify for the full grant, and are applying for both semesters at the same time. It is very important to make sure you qualify for the grant before applying, else you'll receive loans instead.
